Starting on July 1st, 2009, holders of valid driver’s license issued by the government of Denmark are no longer required to take a test for the local driver’s license when operating an equal-size vehicle, in keeping with provision stated in article 50 of the Road Safety Act.

The inauguration of the MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line is carried out; free shuttle buses running between MRT Nangang Station and Nangang Exhibition Hall begins service. Bike rental booths information, roadway excavation information released by the New Construction Office, weather updates from the Central Weather Bureau, and estimated traveling time on national expressways has been added to the Taipei City ATIS Web.

The second Taxi Driver English Conversation Class for 2009 takes place. Classes are held on July 7th, 10th 14th and 17th. 13 trainees complete their lessons.

Safe bicycling training summer camps take place between July 8th and August 25th, 2009. A total of 5 schoolchildren’s classes and 2 adult classes attracted 440 people.

Computer management systems for number cards inventory has been launched.

The bike lane on Beian Road is completed and open to public use.

“Designated lanes for slow-moving motorcycles and slow vehicles” were moved to the outermost lane in the southbound direction on Chengde Bridge. “Designated right-turn lane to Dunhuang Road” has been relocated to the second outermost lane.

Low-floor buses for Red No. 32 New Minquan Main Line (from Nangang to Taipei Bridge) begin service.

The underground parking at the Taipei Municipal Wan Hua Junior High School is open to public use.

The second Taxi Driver Japanese Conversation Proficiency Test for 2009 takes place. A total of 13 trainees pass the test.
