On September 13, taxi drivers were able to charge 3C products, access to unlimited Internet service, borrow an emergency power supply and inflate tires for free at the lounge of Taipei taxicab stand. Taxi drivers could not only take a rest at the lounge but also access to the four new free services. According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, 3C product USB chargers and 4G WiFi high speed Internet service became available at the six taxicab stands in Taipei City (Jianguo, Zhongshan, Dazhi, Ruiguang, Gongguan and Shilin) on September 13, 2016. Taxi drivers would find the poster, “Gt 4G Wi-Fi Taipei Public Free Internet Service”, at the taxicab stands where you could connect to 4G Wi-Fi online for free for 30 minutes without registration required. Download Gt go App to sign up for free, and then you could access to this service for free for 3 hours. During office hour (except Shilin taxicab stand), taxi drivers could borrow an emergency power supply and tire inflator by presenting an ID to managing staff. The Taipei Public Transportation Office had been striving to provide a better environment for taxi drivers to have a rest. Taxi drivers now could access to more services at the lounge of Taxicab stands, and take a rest. A good rest will lead to safe driving. Please contact managing staff at each Taxicab stand for any questions regarding how to use new facilities. The Office will continue to better relevant facilities at Taxicab stands, and help taxi drivers provide higher quality service.
