Visit Taipei City Traffic Information Center for virtual cycling trips on demand!

As of October 2011, the Taipei City Traffic Information Center launched two simulated cycling routes for visitors to trial ride on, along with the addition of iPads for the public to inquire relevant traffic information.

To promote green transportation amid the trend toward energy conservation and carbon reduction, the Taipei City Department of Transportation launched two simulated cycling routes in the cycling section of Taipei City Traffic Information Center. The Center introduced on-demand, virtual cycling tours along the newly unveiled Xinyi and Dazhi bikeways, as well as the existing Dunhua and Riverside lanes. Considering the growing popularity of smartphones, the Center also installed iPads to allow the public to try out the self-developed tablet PC/smartphone-specific applications developed by the City’s traffic authorities. Visitors to the Center are able to obtain real-time traffic information using “Fun Travel in Taipei” and “iTaipei Parking”.

The Traffic Information Center is located in the Taipei Bus Station building adjacent to MRT Taipei Main Station. Any group comprising 5 to 50 people (junior high school students or older) are eligible to reserve guided tours of the Center.
