Car parks equipped with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to save life
Taipei City Parking Management and Development Office (PMDO), in line with promoting the government’s AED policy, and to build a safe parking environment and seize the golden hour for saving life, plans to equip 5 highly utilized car parks with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The car parks are at Taipei City Hall Plaza, Songshan Station, Emei, Bailing High School and Da’an Forest Park. In event of an emergency due to cardiac arrest, rescue can be carried out within the golden hour before the arrival of the medical personnel.
PMDO said that inside the offices of the above 5 car parks, there are signs indicating the location of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). If car park users require any assistance, they may contact the car park’s office, whereby the attendant will immediately call 119 for assistance and make use of the AED to carry out rescue on the person in need, while waiting for the arrival of medical staff.
Equipping AEDs in car parks is a new measure of the PMDO. Every car park in the city will gradually be equipped with an AED to protect the life of the public. It is hoped that car park users will also jointly support and maintain such efforts.
