Public Parking Lots with Power Wheelchairs Recharging Service
The Parking Management and Development Office of Taipei City (hereunder referred to as the Office) will provide public, off-street parking lots with recharging service for electric-powered wheelchairs for people with such needs. People can go to the guard office of the car park for assistance.
According to the Office, 25 public, off-street parking lots nearby hospitals, parks, malls, night markets, government agencies, galleries or intersections will provide wheelchair-borrowing service for citizens from today onwards. In addition, if people find a shortage of electricity in their wheelchairs, they can bring a recharger to the guard office of the public car park, and the guard will assist them with the recharge.
The Office has firm beliefs that public parking spaces are neighbors to the public and that they will provide help and assistance wherever possible to citizens in need. Currently, the public parking lots have begun to provide barrier-free facilities and services, such as certain parking lots that are only accessible to mentally and physically challenged people, barrier-free elevators, ramps and restrooms, in hopes of making parking experience more convenient and comfortable.
