Alcohol Testing Trial Service in Car Parks to Ensure Driving Safety
As the Taipei City Parking Management and Development Office said, in order to promote the principle of “Don't drink and drive” and to ensure the safety of drivers after dinner banquets, an alcohol testing trial service is planned at three car parks next to night markets and restaurants, which are: Chengde Park Underground Car Park in Shilin District, Linsen Park Underground Car Park in Zhongshan District and Civic Blvd. Car Park 1 in Daan District.
The Office indicated that an off-peak preferential rate of NT$10 per hour would also be applied at these three car parks (see attachment) so that the drivers would not worry about the high charge of parking fees when picking up their cars the next day.
The Office further added that drivers who wish to have an alcohol test after dinner can request it from the custodian in the parking lot management office. The custodian will assist with the alcohol testing. The results are only for the drivers’ reference however. If any alcohol is detected, the custodian will actively provide information on “0800 Smart Taxi Booking” and help to call a taxi or to hire a substitute driver with the consent of the driver. If the detected alcohol level in breath exceeds the standard 0.15mg per liter, for the public safety this case will be reported to the police. If the driver is still having a hangover and alcohol is detected in testing when the driver comes to pick up the car the next day, he or she will be advised not to drive.
The Office stressed that “Don't drink and drive and don’t drink if you drive” is a basic principle for maintaining public safety. Every driver is expected to drive safely after a dinner banquet in order to avoid drunk-driving danger from happening.

No bicycle riding in arcades.
Polite cycling manner: say “Excuse me!” before passing pedestrians and “Thank you!” when slowly passing by on the left side.
