Trial tour with English tourist guide helps international marketing of Blue Road
The Taipei Public Transportation Office organized the “Dadaocheng Heritage River Tour”, tour with Chinese-English tourist guide, in cooperation with the National Taiwan Normal University Mandarin Training Center at 2pm on December 18, 2013. A total of 50 students enrolled the tour. They will be introduced by English tourist guide the scenic spots around Dadaocheng and characteristics of Blue Road. It is expected that English tourist guide will help international marketing of Blue Road.
According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, there are many international students and tourists in Taiwan, but most of them are not familiar with Blue Road, and traveling on boats is rare to them. This time, we worked with the National Taiwan Normal University Mandarin Training Center to arrange the tour. Led by English tourist guide, those international students will become more familiar with the heritage, history and culture in Dadaocheng as well as the landscape along the Blue Road. With English tourist guide, foreigners will be able to know more about Taipei, and they can recommend Blue Road tours to their friends or foreign tourists. This can be said as a good way of marketing Blue Road and Taipei City.
The Office further commented that there have been more than 20,000 tourists joining the fine tourist package, “Mini-Tour” by end of November since it was introduced in May. This number of tourists was higher than that in the same period last year for more than 30%. The “Mini-Tour” will continue. Other land and river tours with tourist guides will be provided, in order to improve the content of Blue Road tours. Marketing of Blue Road will mainly target foreign tourists. Trial tours for foreign tourists will occasionally organized for promoting land and river scenic spots in Taipei City, and attracting foreign tourists.
