Taipei Public Transportation Office has begun planning the bus route guide

Some Taipei City Councilors forwarded citizens’ complaints that the bus route map is not easily readable and not all bus routes are integrated in the map. The Taipei Public Transportation Office commented that there are many bus routes and stops in certain regions, and in consideration of citizens’ convenience, now the office is planning the “Bus Route Guide”. Bus routes in certain regions will be shown along with map on a single page. This guide will be available at bus stops of important transfer stations, collective stops and within transfer stations. The “bus route guide” in folding leaflets will be also produced and made available to the public. The Xinyi business district will be the priority to test the new bus route guide. The bus route guide will then be modified according to the test results before it is introduced to the entire city.
For better public transportation service, the office suggested that citizens can access to bus routes by cell phones and websites, and the “Bus Route Map” is an alternative to meet temporary needs, or those who are unable to access to cells phones or the Internet.
