According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, Taipei City and New Taipei City has been planning the intercity bus going on freeways, high-speed roads or overpasses between these two cities. The intercity bus is intended to meet the transportation demand of residents in these cities, and provide them more speedy and convenient transportation service. It can save their time while going to work, school and shopping.
The intercity bus 937 (Linkou – Yuanshan) launched this time was approved on December 8, 2011 at the bus route approval committee meeting held together by the Department of Transportation of the two city governments. After preparation for seven months, it was launched officially today. The bus departs from Renai Road in Linkou District of New Taipei City, and passes through Minquan Road – Minsheng Road – Fulin Road – Wenhua 3rd Road – Zhongshan Road – Xinyi Road – Wenhua 3rd Road – Fuxing 1st Road – Linkou Highway Exit – National Highway No. 1 – Taipei Highway Exit – Taipei City Chongqing North Road – Minzu West Road – Chengde Road – Jiuquan Street – MRT Yuanshan Station (See attachment for the bus route). The bus operates from 5:40 to 22:00 on weekdays, and departs every 8-12 minutes during peak time, and every 15-20 minutes during off-peak time on weekdays and holidays. Fare is charged in two phases. From the point of departure to destination, it takes about 60 minutes. Taipei City residents who go to Linkou new town for study, work and medical care can travel by the intercity express bus.
There are 20 new buses running for this bus route. In addition to wireless Internet service, these buses are equipped with charging sockets, driving distance meter, lane deviation warning system and anti-sleep device. Shown and played in the buses includes the “estimated arrival time”. Residents in these two cities are welcome to access to the transportation service.
