Quick booking function of special service minibus booking system became available on January 25
As complaints were received about the special service minibus not arriving on time, the Taipei Public Transportation Office announced the newly added functions to the online booking system including quick booking function and the reporting function for any delays in arrival. These additions were intended to increase the quick booking efficiency of special service minibus.
The Office explained that some passengers complained that it was hard for the booking system to match minibuses and passengers, and the telephone booking line was often overloaded that they could not get through to report any delays of minibuses in arrival. Thus, the following functions were added to the booking system, in order to solve the said problems (For further details, please refer to the how-to manual about the new functions of telephone booking and online booking systems).
1. Delay reporting function for telephone booking minibus: Any delays of the minibus in arrival can be reported by dialing 02-2176-5165. This saved waiting time on customer service telephone line during peak hours.
2. Online quick booking function: The special service minibus originally required pre-booking three days prior to departure and the minibus was dispatched to one residential customers. If customers were in need of this service two days prior to departure, they had to enquire through customer service line. Customer service staff then confirmed with them whether the minibus service was available after contacting various minibus companies. This procedure required much time and effort. The new booking function of the online booking system (https://40556789.taipei.gov.tw/) allowed users to quickly book for the special service minibus by entering expected contact time, service date and time, and pick-up address and destination. The system would then match and look up availability of various service providers. Users would receive phone calls from customer service staff about the booking results. The new quick booking function not only simplified the booking procedure but also increased the successful booking rate.
3. Online booking cancellation (3 days prior to departure): Booking cancellation could only be made by dialing customer service line. The new online booking function allowed users to cancel any bookings that have not yet been arranged and confirmed. This was more convenient for users.
4. User friendly modification (drop-down menu): Users while providing pick-up address and destination information had to manually enter addresses, apart from setting preferential addresses that it was very likely to make mistakes. This was changed to a drop-down menu, with which, users could more accurately enter addresses without mistakes.
The Office further stressed that the previously described new additions and changes will relieve the workload of customer service phone line, and increase the efficiency and quality of the minibus service. Taipei citizens with disabilities are welcome to access the service.
