Milestone of special service minibuses in Taipei City:expansion to 220 minibuses

The Taipei Public Transportation Office has been striving to increase the number of rented special service minibuses for people with various types of disabilities this year (2012). With convenient transportation services being available, people with disabilities can easily seek medical care, go to school and work, and enjoy leisure and recreation. Thanks to the kindness of organizations, industries and individuals, currently the number of special service minibuses has reached 220 (130 rented and 90 donated). This not only has fulfilled the short-term policy promise of our mayor, Mr. Hao, but also provided convenient transportation for people with disabilities even during traffic peak time.
According to the Taipei Public Transportation, Taipei City has long been endeavoring to meet the needs of people with disabilities. In the past few years, we have introduced low-floor buses, transportation for the elderly and actively improved the special minibus service both quantitatively and qualitatively. We will use this transportation resource well, and oversee the management of operating units. We welcome the donation of minibuses so that we can continuously increase the number of minibuses to serve more people with disabilities.
