Video recording by camera installed on operating buses for protecting passenger’s interest and rights
Journalists asked questions today (June 19) about the camera on Bus 267 of Kuang-Hua Bus Company showed no images when the video was required to clarify the dispute about fare payment. According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, the bus driver shut off the bus as he left his seat which switched off the power supply so the camera was unable to work. The Office has made regulations that upon disputes or relevant events, bus companies will take the responsibility when they cannot provide proof video. This case was subject to these regulations. The Office urged bus companies to ensure the camera installed on bus to fully function, in order to protect passenger’s interests and rights, and drivers shall not intentionally turn off the video recording camera.
