Since its launch in June 2011, a total of 240,000 people have downloaded and installed the App. A new version of the iTaipeiParking App popular among car users is now available. In the new version, besides making changes to the operating method and color scheme, new functions such as Keyword Search and My Favorites are also added; drivers are welcome to download the App.
The revised version has taken into consideration comments from the majority of the public. The operating method has been simplified and amended, whereby information on all car parks are displayed directly upon launching; users may search for nearby car parks by administrative districts or specific shopping area. The new functions added are Keyword Search and My Favorites. When people are going to parking hotspots or restaurants, they may directly enter the hotspot, address, area or location (such as: Ximending, No.1 Shifu Road, Sec.4 Zhongxiao East Road, Sogo, Ming Yao Department Store, Sheraton Hotel, etc.) to inquire about nearby car park information. Together with the existing route planning and street view functions, the public will be able to make their pre-trip planning in good time, and have the parking information at their fingertips. The Parking Management and Development Office reminds the public that they may add car parks which they most frequent into My Favorites for direct click and use.

To maintain traffic safety and prohibit the use of mobile phones while driving, besides displaying the warning “Do not use mobile devices while driving; stop by the roadside first” on its home page, the Office has also conducted discussions with navigation system operators to enable voice broadcasting of parking information in the future. On the other hand, to provide more convenient service to the public, the Office will also research the development of the parking fee payment function.
