“Blue Highway Postcards to the Future” Have Been Posted to Give Special Offers for River Cruises
Taipei’s Blue Highway’s “Postcard to the Future” event started in April 2014 has proven successful. Over 300 visitors wrote down their wishes and prayers for the coming year when taking a river cruise. The first set of postcards was sent in late April of 2015 in an attempt to evoke the wonderful cruise experience and give surprises soon after visitors receive their own postcards full of wishes and memories. To invite visitors to enjoy river cruises again, cruise operators have provided a special offer for river cruises; visitors can show their Blue Highway “Postcards to the Future” for a ticket discount until the end of October.
Taipei City Public Transportation Office (PTO) said that with the implementation of “Postcards to the Future” and “Future Mailbox” from April to September in 2014, visitors wrote down their wishes and expectations for the coming year on the postcards. It is understood that some people’s wishes did indeed come true, including attending an ideal school, getting a better job, finding a soul mate or even successfully losing weight. Cruise companies also strongly encourage tourists to experience a return visit by giving special offers for those presenting their postcards: buy two get one half price for “Guandu to Tamsui” tour by Taipei Cruise and 10% discount for “Dadaocheng to Tamsui” and “Dadaocheng night cruise” tours by CH Shipping. Visitors who received the postcards are most welcome to enjoy the river cruise again.
The PTO concluded that Taipei Blue Highway’s special routes launched in the last two years have gradually become many visitors’ favorite, given the increasing number of tourists. Visitors and citizens will be able to see a different side of Taipei and enjoy new options for holiday travel.
