Department of Transportation, Taipei City Government, indicated that new YouBike stations at Fu-an Junior High School, Keehe 1st Public Housing, Guting Junior High school, and Dadaocheng Park were opened for use on December 16, 2015. The city by far possesses a grand total of 200 YouBike stations, 6,538 operating public rental bicycles in service. Thus, it is very welcome for citizens to make good use of them.
The Department of Transportation also denoted that the 2nd stage of YouBike public bike rental stations establishment plan has finished the signing contract with the operating manufacturer in August this year. It is expected that by the end of 2015 there will be 30 stations’ hardware facilities construction completed. Through the installment arrangement confirmation of the Department of Transportation’s active coordination with the related units, the outcome is that there are 4 stations about to open for use and 29 stations that will be enabled after completing the power transmission by Taiwan Power Company later, which comes to a sum of 33 constructed stations.
The city added the new YouBike station at Fu-an Junior High School to meet the request from the local communities in Shezidao. Through the connection of Shezidao and Shilin Commercial Circle by the public bicycles, it offers the residents in Shezidao a more diverse transport tool option as well as drawing more people from other district to come and enjoy the cycling and beauty in Shezidao; Keehe 1st Public Housing YouBike Station is situated at the intersection of Nanking East Road and the entrance of Lane 59, Xingshan Road, which leaves great convenience for residents to cycle along the Rainbow Bridge to transit at Songshan Station; Guting Junior High School YouBike Station is surrounded by the mixed commercial and residential area, which enhances the surrounding living function and makes it a more comprehensible transport service for residents to reach Taipei Botanical Garden YouBike Station, Guoxing and Qingnian Intersection YouBike Station, etc.; Dadaocheng Park Youbike Station is nearby Dihua Commercial Circle and can easily connect to Yongle Market YouBike Station, which satisfies the residents the leisure and shopping need.
For the detailed numbers of poles for the available bike capacity, Fu-an Junior High School YouBike Station consists of 15 poles for 30 bicycles, Keehe 1st Public Housing YouBike Station has 27 poles for 54 bicycles, Guting Junior High School YouBike Station has 20 poles for 40 bicycles, and Dadaocheng Park YouBike Station has 19 poles for 38 bicycles.
