For better convenience of residents traveling between Shilin and Tianmu, and Yangmingshan (Chinese Culture University), Taipei City Government has approved the “Taxi car-pool routes”. The service operated by Greater China Taxi Co., Ltd took effect on September 14.
According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, a taxi car-pool trial project has been launched in end of 2008, in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications from “MRT Jiantan Station to Chinese Culture University”. After it ended in June 2011, some students and residents had the need of sharing a ride on taxi. Later following the amendment of Transportation Business Control Act, which included taxi car-pool, the Office announced in accordance with the regulations to recruit a taxi service operator to draft the car-pool routes, and organized the Taipei City Taxi Car-Pool Committee. The taxi car-pool route, “Shilin – Yangmingshan”, was approved at the committee meeting on August 22, 2013. It then took effect on September 14. The taxi car-pool stops, fare and operating hours are as follows:
(1)Car-pool stop (departure): MRT Jiantan Station (adjacent to Exit 1), MRT Shilin Station (adjacent to Exit 2), Zhongcheng Station (No. 127, Section 1, Zhongcheng Rd), Dayeh Takashimaya Mall Station (on Zhongcheng Rd), Chinese Culture University and Shanzaihou (Gezhi Rd/Jingshan Rd Entrance).
(2)Car-pool fare: See attachment for details (no additional fare charged at night and during Chinese New Year Holiday).
(3)Car-pool operating hours: 6:00-23:00 every day (Departure time from MRT Jiantan Station and Shanzaihou Station)
(4)Service rules: One way only from Shilin to Yangmingshan; also one way only from Yangmingshan to Shilin.
There is a taxi car-pool sign at each stop along the approved route. Taxi drivers and passengers please follow instructions on the sign, and fares are paid and charged as designated. The Office has also requested the taxi service company to make sure the service operation plan and taxi driver management are well conducted. The Office finally stressed that taxi car-pool is beneficial to explore new taxi business market. It helps save transportation resources, fuel and each passenger’s taxi fare. The Office will evaluate and plan new car-pool routes.
