Taipei city government will ask the operational unit to make improvements as soon as possible, in order to assure the service quality of the Maokong gondola and passenger safety. According to the Taipei Public Transportation Office, this maintaining checkup of the Maokong gondola consisted of five major areas including organizational status, operation and management and service standard, finance, maintenance of gondolas and cables, and transportation safety and safety measures. The checkup was conducted by three teams, “Operation and Management Team”, “Gondolas and Cable System Maintenance Team” and “Transportation Safety Team”. The office invited non-governmental experts and responsible units of the city government to serve as inspectors. Inspectors reviewed relevant documents and conducted on-site inspections. They inspected current operation of the Maokong gondola and found out any strong and weak points. Future improvements will be made based on the inspection results. The year 2012 checkup scored 85.75, which was rated as excellence. This showed that the operation and management of the Maokong Gondola after its operation was reinstated have been on the right track. Its service quality was also well recognized by inspectors. The Taipei Public Transportation Office will continuously oversee its operation and future checkups, and provide higher quality tramway service to the public.
