With both the MRT and city bus network gradually taking shape, nevertheless, there are still many places and/or stations where it may be too far for most citizens to walk from/to home, but too close to driving. The city government believes that the public bike rental system as a possible solution, where citizens can utilize public bikes for daily commutes or recreation, thus covering the “last mile” between home and public transit stations.

Taipei City’s public bike management is an unmanned electronic system. It offers around-the-clock service where citizens can rent a bike at location A and return it at location B, citizens can register as members for free through their mobile , and can then rent a bike using their phone, EasyCard or iPASS Card. In so doing, citizens may conveniently use the public bikes to commute, run errands and go shopping.

1. Bike’s specification, pattern and size are unified, and each bike is numbered and equipped with a control chip and related identification system for easy identification and management.

2. The height of the saddle can be manually adjusted; the bikes are suitable for riders 140 cm – 190 cm tall.

3. The bikes feature a 3-speed function fit for riding in the City area.

4. The bikes are equipped with head and rear lights and front and rear light reflectors.

5. Each bike is equipped with a bike bell, basket and simple lock.
