Therefore, roadside parking spaces are designed taking into consideration traffic characteristics such as road shape, width, service level, and availability of parking nearby, as well as safety factors including rescue operations and public safety. Parking spaces outside restricted areas are planned according to the following rules: Roads less than 6 meters in width should be designed with no parking spaces to meet the requirements of rescue operations and public safety. On one-way roads more than 6 meters in width, at least 3.5 meters net width should be reserved for vehicles. On two-way roads more than 6 meters in width, a passage of at least 5 meters net width should be reserved, and the remaining space can be used for vehicles, pedestrians or parking services depending on the traffic and the demand for parking spaces. Public opinion and the balance of parking between motorcycles and cars are also considered in the design.

There is a serious lack of parking spaces. Moreover, to prevent potential parking problems arising from new construction or land development, we review development plans to ensure that new developments include sufficient parking spaces to be self-sufficient.
However, adding parking spaces is not the only way to solve the problem. We also implement parking restrictions, increase the efficiency of parking lots, enhance enforcement of parking regulations, actively develop and improve mass transportation system, and encourage citizens to take public transportation to slow the growth of cars as ways of solving the parking problem.

Undisciplined parking is common in alleys. This problem is especially obvious around old buildings where parking space is insufficient. In residential areas, many people park their cars or motorcycles in alleys, obstructing the way. As a result, the cityscape, quality of life, and pedestrian safety are negatively affected. Alleys should function mainly as pathways for firefighting and transportation, and thus no-parking zones and parking spaces are planned in conjunction with the traffic regulation measures to balance the functions of the road with demand for parking.

How do I apply for withdrawal of roadside parking spaces in front of the entrance/exit of my garage?

Residents can apply by submitting the application form for withdrawal of a roadside parking space, pictures of the site, and copies of the construction license and construction plan.
