Minsheng West Road in Datong District, Taipei City (from Dihua Street to Huanhe North Road) to Implement A Pilot Reversible Lane from 3pm to 7pm during Weekdays Beginning March 21st, 2017

To ease traffic congestion along Minsheng West Road during the afternoon peak hours, Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office (hereinafter referred to as the “TEO”) will implement a pilot reversible lane in the eastbound direction on the inner lane of Minsheng West Road (Dihua Street to Huanhe North Road) beginning March 21st, 2017 (Tuesday) to cater to westbound vehicles. The implementation period will be from “15:00-19:00 on weekdays”; the aim is to improve the efficiency of relieving vehicle traffic by increasing road capacity. Motorists are reminded to follow the instructions of the onsite personnel when passing this section.
New Taipei City is accessible from Taipei City’s Minsheng West Road via Huanhe Expressway. However, only two lanes are currently open for westbound traffic on Minsheng West Road towards Sanchong, Yonghe, Wanhua, Banqiao, etc. Through observation, traffic congestion has been found on this road section in the westbound direction during the afternoon peak hours. Hence, beginning March 21st (Tuesday), the TEO will implement a pilot reversible lane on the inner lane of eastbound Minsheng West Road (from Dihua Street to Huanhe North Road) from 15:00 to 19:00 on weekdays. This adjustment will increase westbound traffic flow space and reduce its traffic queuing length, thereby improving the efficiency of relief for westbound vehicle traffic on Minsheng West Road.
