    The YouBike 2.0 upgrade project began in 2021, providing a closer and denser rental station service using light bike docks and smart on board units, officially entering operation on May 8, 2021. Construction of stations continued in 2022, and by the end of December, Taipei City had 1,240 stations. After construction was completed, the station density was ten per square kilometer, the highest in Taiwan, providing the public with a closer and denser public bicycle service for a comprehensive last mile of public transit.
