YouBike’s Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 1 Station ceased operating as of Dec. 20, 2011. The Station has been relocated next to Songde Building (beside No. 300, Songde Rd.), offering a wider service area, and allowing more citizens to enjoy using the public rental bicycles to travel around the city.
Taipei City Department of Transportation noted that not many people use the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 Station. The low frequency in usage is due to the short distance between the three stations: TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, TWTC Exhibition Hall 3 and Citizen Square. In order to widen the service area coverage of YouBike, and given that the TWTC Exhibition Hall 3 Station and Citizen Square Station shall continue to provide service without affecting the rights of the users, the Department has already commissioned service operator Giant to carry out station relocation work.
Songde Building Station is expected to be officially in operation starting after the 2012 Chinese New Year period. New and existing users are welcome to continue enjoying getting around Taipei City on YouBike!
