(1) Electric Buses

    As of the end of 2022, Taipei City had 336 electric buses (EV buses) running on 16 routes, including Xinyi Main Line, 66 and 208, with the target of full electrification by 2030. In addition, the "Guidelines for Subsidies Based on the Number of Passenger Trips on Electric Buses in Taipei City" were formulated in 2021 to encourage operators to purchase electric buses and put them to use for Metro Bus or other routes with high transport volume.

(2) Offering Car Park Charging Facilities and Smart Services and Charging Facilities at Taxi Service Stations

    For the public off-road parking smart management system, 500 spots with charging facilities were set up in 2022. By the end of December, 54 places provided charging facilities for electric scooters, 29 places provided battery exchange facilities, and 55 places offered differential rates for priority spots.

    In 2022, 5 parking lots including Xinsheng Elevated Road (Jinzhou Street-Minquan East Road, Nanjing East Road-Changan East Road), Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant Park, Lequn Temporary Parking Lot and Zhishan Park launched a pilot program with 10 180kw and 200kw fast-charging poles and 20 spots with charging facilities. Fast charging facilities for electric cars were made available in September.

    In November 2021, Dazhi Taxi Service Station took the lead the whole country in launching 2 25kw fast charging poles with good results in the first half of 2022; the facilities were added to 4 other service stations. By the end of 2022, 8 poles had been set up.

(3) Measures for Promotion of Electric Vehicles

    Between 2021 and 2023, NT$156.5 million were invested in subsidies for 26,500 replacement and newly purchased electric scooters each year. Free parking is also provided for electric scooters Charging facilities for cars and scooters have been set up at public parkinglots, smart management has been introduced for parking spaces equipped with charging facilities, and differential rates are offered depending on whether the vehicles need to be charged during the time they are parked.
