The River Cruise programs launched in 2013 spring

The weather is getting warmer, and it’s time when many spring tourist programs become available. The Taipei City River Cruise tourist programs will be launched soon including River Cruise 9 year anniversary promotion and River Cruise off-campus education program etc which for sure are options for the public and students while planning spring trips. The programs will guide you to admire the beautiful river view in Taipei City.
According to the Taipei City Public Transportation Office, the River Cruise festival theme boat trips that were first introduced in August last year had attracted about 1,500 passengers within one month, and some of them were from Hong Kong. During Chinese New Year Holiday, the River Cruise programs were also very popular as there were many promotional programs and the weather was nice. The number of total passengers during this period of time was 3,400, approximately 3 times more than that last year. Many tourists chose to travel on the River Cruise rather than by cars or MRT to Dadaocheng, Guandu and Tamsui. They could avoid the crowds and busy traffics as well as enjoy the river view.

The Taipei City Public Transportation Office worked with the River Cruise business operators with the hope of extending the high season to provide special discounts or promotions in 2013. The first program will be celebrating the River Cruise 9 anniversary this Saturday (March 9, 2013), which offers special discounts on some routes. The Taipei City Public Transportation Office has produced “River Cruise photo frame postcards” free for passengers on the River Cruise, and the special offer will not last long as the limited amount of 5000 postcards are sent out. Don’t miss the opportunity to have one of the postcards.
The River Cruise off-campus education program in 2013 has also begun. To allow more students to have fun in this program, it has been made available for students from elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high (vocational) schools and community colleges. Students who intend to enroll in this program can contact your schools to make the applications to the Department of Education, Taipei City Government. The Taipei City Public Transportation Office organized eight experience trips for teachers and school staff to have better understanding of the River Cruise. The experience trips are also quite popular, and we hope that they will help us promote this off-campus education program.
The Taipei City Public Transportation Office will continue to provide more River Cruise promotional programs such as the “River Cruise Micro-Trip”, which combines guided tours and river trips, and River Cruise festival theme tourist trips offered on holidays. The River Cruise programs in 2013 will be more interesting. For more information, please visit the River Cruise Festival fan page www.facebook.com/taipei.river.
