Fine for drug-impaired driving increases to NTD 90,000

Driving under the influence of drugs, hallucinogens, narcotics, and similar officially controlled drugs, seriously endangers traffic safety. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the Ministry of the Interior have amended the Standard Punishment and Handling of Violations of Road Traffic Rules Regulations by increasing the original fine to the statutory maximum of NTD 90,000, effective from September 01, 2017.
Taipei City Traffic Adjudication Office appeals to drivers to strictly comply with the relevant traffic regulations, so as to ensure the safety of drivers and road users.
