Special discounts on bus fare if passengers transferred from the MRT within 1 hour. As reported in newspaper, for some buses, the bus fare is paid when getting off the bus; some citizens complained that they did not get the special discounts as that was over one hour when they got off the bus. The Taipei Public Transportation Office suggested that citizens could request to scan the card and pay the fare upon getting on the bus if you worry to lose the special discounts.
Due to longer bus routes for some buses or busy traffics, when people get off the bus, it is possible to be more than one hour from leaving the MRT gates. The office has in a letter to bus companies requested to allow passengers scanning their cards upon getting on the bus. Drivers should remind passengers by broadcasting about the special discounts when passing MRT stations and 2-3 stops after MRT stations. Appropriate posters will be posted in buses. Relevant information will be also broadcasted within MRT stations.
