The Pedestrian Exclusive Phase Signaling at “Intersection at Section 2, Anhe Road and Lane 81, Section 2, Dunhua South Road” Went into Effect Since 2019.12.18

The pedestrian exclusive phase signaling from 07:40-08:10, 16:00-16:30, and 17:50-18:10 on school days at the “intersection at Section 2, Anhe Road and Lane 81, Section 2, Dunhua South Road” came into effect on 2019.12.18 to maintain traffic safety.
The T-intersection at Section 2, Anhe Road and Lane 81, Section 2, Dunhua South Road has lots of cars changing directions and heavy mixed traffic of pedestrians and cars. To improve traffic flow and safety, the Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office (TEO) tested pedestrian exclusive phase signaling at the “intersection at Section 2, Anhe Road and Lane 81, Section 2, Dunhua South Road” from 2019.10.28 based on earlier assessment by the TEO. After reviewing the results on site, the relevant units determined to have the system go normal to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles and protect pedestrian safety.
To align with the “pedestrian exclusive phase” signaling at the intersection, the TEO reminds both pedestrians and drivers to follow the traffic lights and for pedestrians to cross quickly in groups to maintain safety.
