To encourage citizens to make use of public transport, the Taipei City Department of Transportation has especially cooperated with the Yangmingshan Flower Festival: Calla Lilies Season to launch the “Springtime Flower Easy Tour”campaign. Visitors traveling up the mountain via the Taipei Joint Bus System using their EasyCard will also enjoy 50% off every section of the hilltop shuttle bus services, for an unlimited number of trips.
The promotion of green transportation has been an important transportation policy of the Taipei City Government in recent years; it is hoped that by creating a friendly 2BMW (Bike, Bus, Metro, Walk) green transportation environment, users of private transport means will be encouraged to switch over to green transportation. In the past, the Yangmingshan Flower Festival and Calla Lilies Season always drew enormous numbers of tourists for flower viewing, not only creating traffic congestion, but also spoiling the traveling mood. In order to promote the 2BMW green transportation concept, and at the same time reduce the impact on traffic, this year, the Taipei City Department of Transportation has especially cooperated with the Yangmingshan Flower Festival: Calla Lilies Season to organize the “Springtime Flower Easy Tour” campaign such that the public can experience the economy and convenience of green transit. For all who travel up the mountain via the Taipei Joint Bus System using their EasyCard, all transit made within 1 hour on the hilltop shuttle/park buses, including bus No. 130, 131 and 108 inside the show grounds, will enjoy 50% off all ticket types, for an unlimited number of times. This will significantly reduce the fare burden in getting on and off between the various attractions, and make it easier for everyone to visit the mountains during the flower blooming springtime. However, please remember that this special offer only applies to users of EasyCard, so bring it along and travel with your EasyCard!
To celebrate the opening of the 2013 Flower Festival, the “Springtime Flower Easy Tour” is launched simultaneously on February 12th, and will last until the end of the Calla Lilies season on April 28th,regardless of weekdays or holidays. The Department of Transportation stresses that during the Flower Festival and the Calla Lilies season, access control will be implemented on Yangde Boulevard.Vehicles without an access permit will not be able to go up the mountain via Yangde Boulevard. In addition, there are limited parking spaces on the mountain; law enforcement and towing of illegal parking will be reinforced. Hence, taking public transport will not only save you money, but will also alleviate the pain of parking and congestion. Visitors are recommended to make use of this special offer as much as possible and make springtime flower viewing a joy!
