Exclusive Pedestrian Phase for the traffic sign at the Intersection of Wanhe Street and Lane 16 of Wan’an Street in Wenshan District begins on September 19, 2016

In order to ensure traffic safety, an exclusive pedestrian phase will be implemented at the intersection of Wanhe Street and Lane 16 of Wan’an Street of, Wenshan District starting September 19, 2016 (Monday). The scheduled periods for the exclusive pedestrian phase are as follows: during school hours at 07: 20 - 08: 10, 11: 50 - 12: 10 and 16: 00 - 19: 00.
Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office (hereafter referred to as TEO) stated that the intersection of Wanhe Street and Lane 16 of Wan’an Street is a T-junction near WanFang Elementary School with disturbance caused by heavy turning traffic and numerous pedestrians. After its evaluation, the TEO decided to implement the exclusive pedestrian phase (during school hours at 07: 20 – 08: 10, 11: 50 - 12: 10 and 16: 00 -19: 00) at the intersection to decrease the conflict between vehicles and pedestrians, and to ensure traffic safety. The TEO will perform a follow-up evaluation of the operation to understand the relevant needs and timely adjust the setting of the traffic signals to ensure safety and smooth traffic.
The TEO reminds pedestrians and drivers to follow the traffic signs and light signals when passing through the said intersection to ensure traffic safety. Pedestrians should also move swiftly in groups when passing the intersection to ensure safety.
