License suspension starts from the day you hand in your license. The license will be returned when the suspension period ends.
For example, for the violation case of being caught drunk driving by a police officer, if the driver’s license is suspended for 1 year, the period of 1 year will start from the day of handing in the license.
(Ex: Handing in the driver’s license on September 20, 2017, license suspended for 1 year from September 20, 2017 to September 19, 2018, returning the license on September 20, 2018)
