Taxi queue areas re-arranged and improved on the east and west sides of Taipei Railway Station

The Taipei City Public Transportation Office has re-arranged the taxi queue areas on the east and west sides of the Taipei Railway Station for better order in getting taxies. Railings, guiding signs, indicating lines and relevant separating facilities were set up. Passengers please follow the guidance and indications to get taxies in an orderly manner.
As commented by the Taipei City Public Transportation Office, there are two areas for taxi queuing at the Taipei Railway Station, one of which is on the road side at the East 3 Exit; the other is in the basement car park on the west side. We have received public complaints that the queue areas were not appropriately arranged so the queue line is disorderly when there are crowds demanding taxi service. After our staff inspected these areas, we moved the original east queue area backwards (to the north), and left the front end of the waiting platform for the passenger queue (about 13 m). We have also added railings and queue sign as well as indicating lines (see diagrams 1 and 2) for guiding passengers to stay in a queue for taking taxies. In the west queue area, separating traffic cones and railings, and guiding floor labels were set up south of the railway station exit to guide passengers towards the north area to get taxies, so getting a taxi while being in the middle of the queue can be avoided (see diagrams 3 and 4).
The Taipei City Public Transportation Office will continuously keep an eye on the east and west taxi queue areas at the Taipei Railway Station. Further arrangements will be made if needed. Passengers are urged to get taxies according to the guidance and signs, and listen to the instructions of on-site staff so that every passenger shares the same fairness in taking taxies and the movement can be more efficient. Please be patient and respect others’ interests and rights if there are crowds waiting for taxies.
