The Exclusive Pedestrian Phase at the Intersection of Section 4, Bade Road and Zhongpo North Road Shall Be Revoked Starting January 28, 2019

The exclusive pedestrian phase at the intersection of Section 4, Bade Road and Zhongpo North Road (Songshan District) shall be revoked starting January 28, 2019 to improve pedestrian safety and traffic operation performance. Drivers and pedestrians are required to go and stop according to the traffic signal lights.
The existing time slot-specific exclusive pedestrian phase at the intersection began January 28, 2019 to conform to local traffic requirements. This has been proposed by local residents as some pedestrians pass through the intersection by the crosswalk without following the light signal, and the TEO's joint onsite assessment with relevant incumbent entities showed that span of the intersection is relatively wide and pedestrian-vehicle conflicts are minor.

The existing morning exclusive pedestrian phase at the intersection shall be revoked from January 28, 2019 to improve pedestrian safety and traffic operation performance. This has been proposed by local residents as some pedestrians pass through the intersection by the crosswalk without following the light signal. The TEO’s joint onsite assessment with relevant incumbent entities on January 11, 2019 showed that span of the intersection is relatively wide and pedestrian-vehicle conflicts are minor.
The TEO suggests drivers and pedestrians passing by the intersection observe the traffic light signals when passing the intersection; pedestrians shall pass the intersection quickly to maintain personal safety.
