Connecting to the upcoming annual world-famous Taipei Cycle Show 2016 from March 2nd to 5th 2016, Taipei City Government, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and Cycling and Health Technology Industry Research and Development Center (CHC) will host a bike design exhibition for the first to be done in Velo-city to display all the 70 present and previous award-winning works which include bicycles, bicycle parts, accessories, and futuristic design concept works from Taipei Cycle Design and Innovation Awards and International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC) during the Velo-city Global 2016 conference event from February 27th to March 1st 2016.
There were 15 award-winning works from the bike design exhibition with the exhibition theme topic as “Cycling from the Present to Future” to demonstrate Taiwan’s current design and innovation strengths and abilities to take the future trend in today’s press conference. In regard to the 70 award-winning works, 40 of them are the current winners from Taipei Cycle Design and Innovation Awards and the other 30 pieces are the previous winners from the yearly IBDC.
Taipei City hopes to take advantage of hosting this Velo-city Global conference event to build a safer, more comfortable, and cyclist-friendly environment for making Taipei City the most bicycle-friendly city in Asia, promoting the country’s bicycle industries for a better economy, and marketing the island’s cycling tourism to the world.
