The barrier-free bus 126 on trial during the blossom season this year (Taipei Railway Station (North Exit 2) – Blossom clock) and special service minibuses (blossom clock – Yangming Book House-Erziping Tourist Center), which went to the Yangmingshan, were greatly welcome by people with disabilities. To extend the barrier-free transportation service, the Taipei Public Transportation Office decided to extend the barrier-free bus and special service minibus till end of September, 2011, in order to provide more tourist options to people with disabilities.
The barrier-free 126 bus, which is a large minibus (6 seats for people with disabilities), and 2 low-floor buses (2 seats for people with disabilities) provide special transportation service during the blossom season on fixed time schedule. The buses depart from Taipei Railway Station every hour from 7 to 16 o’clock (last buses departs from the blossom clock to Taipei Railway Station at 17 o’clock). If more than 2 people with disabilities intend to go to the Yangminshan, please telephone the bus company to confirm about bus schedule (Service telephone number: San Chung Bus: 0800-090-607, Metropolitan Transport Cooperation: 0800-053-434, or Metropolitan Transport Yangmingshan Station: 2861-6206). Bus departure schedule and real-time bus schedule are available on the “Taipei City Bus Routes and Public Transportation Transfer Search System” (http://www.5284.com.tw). The Office would like to remind the public to go visiting as early as possible each day to avoid missing the last bus. The minibus (blossom clock – Yangming Book House – Erziping Tourist Center) service hours begins from 9:00 to 16:30, and departs every 30 minutes (departs per hour during off-peak hours at noon). The fare is NT$15~30 each passenger, and accompany person is limited to one only. Passengers can take a low-floor bus to the blossom clock square, and take the minibus to the Erziping recreation area. Please see attachment 2 for service hours and schedule.
