Intersection signals at Section 1, Anhe Road and Lane 266, Section 4, Ren-ai Road in the Da-an District of Taipei City will be adjusting its pedestrian scramble operation times to from 5am to 12am daily.

To protect pedestrian safety, intersection signals at Section 1, Anhe Road and Lane 266, Section 4, Ren-ai Road in Da-an District of Taipei City will be adjusting its pedestrian scramble operation times starting May 6, 2019. The new operation times will be from 5am to 12am daily.

In consideration of the intersection of Section 1, Anhe Road and Lane 266, Section 4, Ren-ai Road being a three-way junction, where more vehicles will be making turns and pedestrians and vehicles are more likely to pass each other, Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office is advancing the start and end of the existing pedestrian scramble time of 7am to 10pm daily to 5am to 12am daily. The measure is meant to enhance traffic safety and flow at the intersection, reduce the risk of conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles, and to protect pedestrians’ road safety.

In response to the “pedestrian scramble” signals implemented at the intersection, pedestrians and drivers are asked to accurately follow signal lights to proceed or stop at the junction. When passing through the junction, pedestrians are also asked to walk past it in groups and in a timely fashion so to ensure safety.
