S12 Citizen Minibus Commenced Operation at Noon Today (August 15)

The Taipei City Public Transportation Office continued to push for the “last mile” shuttle services to satisfy local citizens’ demands for short-distance transportation services to and from communities. S12 Citizen Minibus, operated by San-Chung Bus Corporation began operation today (August 15). Mayor Hau, city councilors and local residents of Shezi and Hulu Island attended the ceremony inaugurating the S12 citizen minibus service at the Taipei Municipal Shezi Elementary School at 10:00 a.m. today. Following the ceremony, Mayor Hau and the attendees took the bus to experience the convenience of the service. The bus service will be free for the first 2 weeks (from August 15 to 28) of its official launch. From August 29, bus trip will be charged at the one-section rate.
The service route was finalized upon several discussions with community residents. The bus service starts from Fuhua Road and covers a total of 26 stops for the entire route. It operates between 6:00 a.m. and 20:00 p.m. with 15 services on weekdays and 8 services on weekends and public holidays. The bus service network covers key points of interest including MRT Zhishan Station, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital and the department stores to satisfy citizens’ commuting and entertainment needs and facilitate their access to hospitals.
