New Regulations on Traffic Violations

The Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act was implemented in September 1, 2018. For car drivers violating this Act and refusing to stop the violation or to pull over for inspection when ordered by the traffic police or traffic inspector, but instead fled from the scene, will be fined from the original NT$3,000 - NT$6,000 to an extra penalty of NT$10,000 - NT$30,000, in addition to a six-month license plate suspension. Car drivers who violate this Act more than twice in five years will be fined NT$30,000, in addition to a one-year license plate suspension.
Taipei City Traffic Adjudication Office urges drivers to truly obey all relevant traffic rules to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
