I parked my car at the entrance/exit of an alley where no parking prohibition lines were drawn, but I was ticketed nonetheless for illegal parking. Why?

According to relevant traffic and safety regulations, no temporary parking is allowed within 10 meters of an intersection, bus stop, or taxi stop. The purpose of this restriction is to prevent parked vehicles from obstructing firefighting vehicles and ambulances from driving in the alley when a fire breaks out or the safety and lives of people is otherwise endangered. Drivers should be mindful of this regulation even where no prohibition lines are drawn.
