1. Before cancellation of the license plate: (1)No temporary impoundment of the plate Pay the fine and have your vehicle inspected at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC , then bring the inspection certificate to the TAO (or the counter of TAO at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC) to resolve the case. (2)Temporary impoundment of the plate Pay the fine and return the vehicle registration and the license plate for issuance of the suspension (revocation) enforcement notice. Then bring the enforcement notice to the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC and have your vehicle inspected for reinstatement of the suspended license plate. If the license plate has been cancelled for past due inspection, application for issuance of a new plate is required. 2. After cancellation of the license plate: (1) No temporary impoundment of the plate (Transferred to the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC after recovery) Submit the vehicle registration, traffic ticket, and license plate to the TAO and pay off the fine to obtain the cancellation enforcement notice. Then bring the enforcement notice to the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC for issuance of a temporary license plate. Attach the plates to your vehicle and have it inspected at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC for issuance of a new license plate. (2) Temporary impoundment of license plate (Transferred to the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC) Submit the vehicle registration, traffic ticket, and license plate to the TAO and pay off the fine to obtain the cancellation enforcement notice. Then bring the enforcement notice to the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC for issuance of temporary license plates. Attach the plates to your vehicle and have it inspected at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC for issuance of a new license plate. (3) Re-issuance of the license plate after cancellation Submit the vehicle registration, traffic ticket, and license plate to the TAO (or the TAO counter at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC) and pay off the fine. After completing the procedures for outstanding cases, have your vehicle inspected for issuance of a new license plate. (4) Vehicle scrap registration Submit the vehicle registration, traffic ticket, and license plate to the TAO (or the TAO counter at the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office , Directorate General of Highways, MOTC) and pay off the fines for all outstanding cases, if any. Then complete the procedure for registering a scrapped vehicle.
