Traditional signs made of aluminum plate are not well illuminated, and when the background lighting is more complex (such as dimly-lit locations or city center), they are less visible. To address this issue, the government utilized LED lighting and a translucent reflector to create internally illuminated traffic signs, improving visibility and traffic safety. In 2022, 144 internally illuminated traffic signs were installed, bringing the citywide total to 6,984.
