To achieve human-oriented transportation development, Taipei City started removing scooters from arcades and improving sidewalks in 1999. As of December 2022, 1,693 sections and 773.99 kilometers of arcades have been worked on. Moreover, 691.056 kilometers of sidewalks have been improved, taking up 60.90% of the total length of public sidewalks. This program has gained popular support for allowing arcades and sidewalks to maximize their functions and improving the aesthetic aspect of the city.
